About

Who we are and how we work.

The Sevier Chronicle publishes local news and a historical archive for Sevier County, Tennessee. Its pages look and read like a printed newspaper because that is what it is meant to be: a front page you can take in at a glance, and stories you can read in full.

Stories of the Past

From the Archives republishes stories from old newspapers. We transcribe each one as it was printed, set it beside a scan of the original page, and credit the newspaper, the date, the writer, and the source. We republish only works in the public domain: those published before 1931, or later works whose copyright we have confirmed was never renewed.

Stories of the Present

[A paragraph about the editor, how stories are reported, and what the paper covers.]

How We Are Paid For

The paper is free. Local sponsors pay for it, and every sponsor spot is labeled. We use no ad networks and no trackers. See Our Sponsors.
